Anti-viral/ Antibacterial Essential Oils (GRAS Generally Regarded As Safe)

Essential oils even when diluted kill bacteria that antibiotics do not. Essential oils taken internally, with proper dosage can even kill the MRSA virus and Staph infections. Many people without the apparent infection carry the bug and can still spread it.

Cinnamon, Thyme and Clove essential oils killed 92% of 25 different gram negative and positive strains, according to research published in the International Journal of Food Microbiology.

Clove Bud  May assist the respiratory system. Helps with toothache, pain, sore throat (2 drops in 1/2 c. water & gargle), infectious diseases (formerly used against the plague), memory deficiency, impotence, and infected wounds. Is anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti-fungal, anti-tumoral, and anti-parasitic. Beneficial for athlete’s foot, arthritis, rheumatism, sprains, colic, nausea, colds, flu, cancer, Hodgkin’s, dental infections, virus of the nerves (MS), cystitis, diarrhea, amoebic dysentery, viral hepatitis, bacterial colitis, cholera, sinusitis, tuberculosis, hypertension, thyroid dysfunction, and fatigue. Aromatic influences: sense of healing, improved memory, protection, and courage. GRAS Killed more than 60 types of bacteria, 15 stains of fungi, and several viruses. Clove Oil reduced candida infection by 75% after 8 days in test subjects. Has an ORAC value of 1,078, 700.

Cinnamon BarkAssists circulation, lowers glucose, and strengthens the heart, endocrine, and nervous systems. It is an immuno-stimulant, anti-infectious, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. Helps with typhoid, tropical infection, and vaginitis. It is also anti-viral, anti-parasite, and a general sexual stimulant. Helps with flu, rheumatism, warts, coughs, colds, and is a general all around maintenance oil (hot oil, use small amounts diluted). Powerful purifier and enhances the action and activity of other oils. It has been found that viruses, bacteria, and fungus cannot live in this oil. Aromatic influences: May promote physical energy, psychic awareness, and increasing one’s prosperity. Diffuse with caution. It is best diffused mixed with other oils. Caution: always diluted with carrier oil because the high phenol properties of the oil make it feel warm or burn the skin. Oregano– Is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic, anti-infectious, analgesic, laxative, tonic, anti-parasitic, anti-viral, immune-stimulant, balancing metabolism, warts, strengthening the vital centers of the body. Used for chronic bronchitis, colds, whooping cough, pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumonia, asthma, mental disease, chronic rheumatism, muscular pain. Beneficial for infected cuts, wounds, waterlogged skin, sooths nervous stomach disorders, stimulates liver and spleen, calms intestinal spasm, flatulence, stimulates appetite, aids gulping of air. Very stimulating nerve tonic, revives the senses (can ease deafness, pain noise in ears), migraines, facial tics, relieves imaginary diseases and mental psychopathic conditions, gives feeling of well being. When taken internally in olive oil it strengthens the immune system but should not be used too often because it can be toxic to the liver, kidneys and nerves. Studies on rats have shown oregano to be effective against lung tumors. Aromatic influences: strengthening and feeling self-secure. Caution: hot oil – may irritate skin always dilute. Rosemary-It is anti-catarrh, anti-multiple sclerosis (supports), anti-infectious, anti-bacterial (this chemotype said to be best used for pulmonary congestion, slow elimination, candida, chronic fatigue, staph and strap germs). Preventative for all respiratory infections, congestion, sinusitis, bronchitis, chills, colds, flu, infections (especially staph and strep), colitis, dyspepsia, sour stomach, cystitis, palpitations, arteriosclerosis, immune stimulant, nervous exhaustion and stress-related illness. Aromatic Influences: clear thought, memory, uplifting, longevity, and balance. GRAS The rosemary plant was regarded as sacred by many civilizations. It was used to fumigate to protect against the plague and infectious diseases.

ThymeAnti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic, antiseptic, anti-viral. May work as a neurotonic and cardiotonic. Builds the immune system (stimulating white blood cells into action), assists in overcoming emotional fatigue and physical weakness especially after illness. Very strengthening to nerves, aids memory, congestion, low spirits, colitis, sinusitis, dyspepsia, general tonic for stomach, infectious colitis, bronchitis, asthma, tonsillitis, whooping cough, tuberculosis, cystitis, urinary, anthrax, warts, abscess, sciatica, lumbago, bruises, burns, insect bites, lice, sprains, poor circulation, raises low blood pressure, sporting injuries, diarrhea, chills, headache, insomnia, nerves. GRAS Thyme in tiny concentrations, (less than 0.05% kills 8 bacteria that cause tooth decay, gingivitis, bad breath. Lemon GrassStimulates digestion and liver, regulating the para-sympathetic system, strengthening vascular walls, regenerating connective tissue, anti-fungal, immune stimulant, and lymphatic drainage. Also clearing infections, repairing ligaments, improving eyesight, bladder infection, kidney disorders, fluid retention, edema, varicose veins, excessive perspiration, insect repellent (fleas, lice, ticks), opening pores, tissue and muscle toner, aids poor circulation and stress. Aromatic influences: psychic awareness, calming, and purification. GRAS  Historically used for infectious illness, fever, as an insecticide and an aid to the central nervous system.

Other Essential Oils to Consider:

Lavender, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Plague Defense, Citrus Defense, Tea Tree, Frankincense, Helichrysum, Geranium.

Essential oil diffusion: An in vitro study on the inhibition of MRSA by essential oil diffusion found that 72 of 91 investigated essential oils exhibited zones of inhibition in soy agar plates streaked with MRSA (strain ATCC 700699). The most effective being lemongrass oil (Cymbopogon flexuosus), lemon myrtle oil (Backhousia citriodora), mountain savory oil (Satureja montana), cinnamon oil (Cinnamomum verum), and melissa oil (Melissa officinalis) essential oils. Of these, lemongrass essential oil was the most effective, completely inhibiting all MRSA colony growth. … Tea tree oil also kills all MRSA strains that have been tested.
